I didn't remember how important goals were until I joined Curves for a month and at the end of the weighing and measuring, she went ahead and set me some goals. That totally motivated me! The goals we set were 5? pounds weight removed and 6 inches removed across all my measurements. Two weeks into it, I am on target for the size reduction but weight has not budged. Bodyfat is down and my diet has been fine so I am just going to assume that the weight is doing what it needs to and mostly fat is converting to muscle. As I only really have a week left, I need some longer term goals to keep me motivated and on track. I decided to start a 12 week challenge starting today. So some goals to go with it are: 4 inches removed from tummy strong shoulders again posture improvements 17,500 steps per day

| My weight is challenging so I am setting behavior and fitness goals. 1) run 5 straight miles without walking by August 31st 2) stick to eating plan 3) bike to 75% of destinations (saves a lot of money on gas too) 4) do the yard work 5) 50% fewer convenience foods for myself and Cormac (even the "healthy" chicken nuggets)

I set my weight loss goals just like I set my BFing goals, a little at a time. My goal right now is to lose at least 5 lbs a month until I have lost 30. I'm doing that right now by working out at home and eating healthy. I have also cut out ALL pork and beef, and I am eating chicken and fish minimally. My goal by 2009 is to become a full vegetarian. I do want to start attending the gym, but I want to get Skye taking a sippy cup first so she can go to the childcare. They will allow her to go now as a EBF baby, but I'm just not comfortable with it, kwim?

Holy crap. I'm sedentary. I didn't realize that. I've worn the pedometer a few days. First day, doing regular stuff including house stuff and playgroup, I took so few steps, I never moved. Yesterday, I had to get on my little stepper and work out for 30 minutes to hit my little goal of just 5000. Today, I started doing housework at 9am and continued non-stop until 1pm. And I was only at about 3500 steps. I am doing incremental goals with the final goal being 17,500, but wow, that will really require that I go for an actual walk because there is no way to even approach that number even by being super active around the house. This little contraption is going to keep me honest.

I've been struggling with plantar fasciitis for the past two years and I've been trying to workout without standing on my feet. Not working too well, let me tell ya! My summer fitness goal is to try to start walking again, then slowly work my way back into jogging. I'm sick of gaining weight and using only the stationary bike for my aerobic workout. I'm just going to really focus on stretching and icing the bottom of my foot right after I workout and see if that helps.
