| I think you'll find me in this forum alot now, lol. Since I live in high altitude mountains, very dry and a short growing season (well not much lives up here except lodgepole pine and Aspen), I decided to try my hand at growing things in the kitchen, the hydroponic way! I got an Aerogarden and in 2 weeks, I have herbs that are on their way to be thriving bunches! I think next weekend I should be able to do my first harvest. www.aerogarden.com Now, I just have to learn about herbs. ![]() Next, I got a sprouting kit and a sprout bag. My alfalfa sprouts just took 3 days from planting before I could eat them, wow!!! Now I am trying mung bean sprouts and just ordered a bunch on Amazon. Also while surfing Amazon, I found an in-kitchen strawberry kit. I'll hang it from the ceiling and hope for fresh organic strawberries year-round.

| Here it is: Amazon.com: Complete Strawberry Growing Kit: Garden Stacker Planter + Indoor Strawberry Garden Starter Kit - Makes a Great Gift Idea - Grow Everbearing Strawberries Indoors or Outdoors Year Round - Includes 120 Strawberry Temptation Seeds, Seed Start I haven't bought it yet! Almost did last night but lack of Amazon reviews and it costing $60 I thought I would wait and do some more research. ![]() I do not have a green thumb, and have never worked in a garden other than to enjoy the harvest of my dad's on the farm. I need easy, I need no weeding, bugs, hehe.

| Those are both so cool! I think you should get the strawberry thing. I have grown strawberries out of doors a few times and never gotten to taste them. I'd watch them start to ripen and then the day I knew they'd be ready, guess what? Gone. What a pain. Birds I guess. The herbs and sprouts sound so easy! I have hated sprouts for years but finally forced myself to just eat the darned things. I am going to do a whole organic garden outside but I am waiting a bit more while any residual chemicals in my soil go away. I am collecting compost like mad in this great big black composting thing. By spring, I should have plenty ready! I was collecting Starbucks coffee grounds like crazy for composting but now I notice they don't have them anymore. |
