| I have realized how out of shape I am and want to get back into better shape. Running looks to be a great way to do it and easy to do since we have a great paved trail here to run on. I checked out the Couch to 5K program and went to do week one and it TOTALLY kicked my butt. I felt like I was running with weights attached to my legs. I did not expect it to be this hard. I'm going to try to keep with it (as soon as it isn't 100 degrees outside with 80% humidity). Is this how everyone feels when they are starting out? Any tricks or tips to break myself in better? Thanks! |

| Well, I have been sick and haven't been able to do anything but am finally feeling better and hoping to start back up. Too bad it's 100 degrees today with high humidity. The C5K program is similar to Hal Higdon's beginner running. It's basically short bursts of running with periods of walking. It's outlined out to do more and more running until you are finally running the full 5k nonstop. |
